Chapter 1
A devastating loss had the Voyager crew now standing, saying good-bye to one of their finest, one of the good souls, Harry Kim. An away mission gone wrong, now had those not on duty mourning the loss of a good man.
Seven stood in the far back, quietly saying her own good-byes. A single tear escaped her human eye. Before Seven could react, a hand offered her a tissue. She follows the hand and arm up to see B'Elanna Torres.
The normally gruff Chief Engineer had a slightly softer look as she handed Seven the cloth. Seven accepted it with a nod of thanks.
Both turned back as the Captain was just about to speak.
"Today is a sad day, one which will haunt us for all our lives. To lose such a good man to such a minor disagreement is never fair." The Captain shakily took a breath and continued. "But we are not here to mourn our loss. We are here to remember the good that Harry Kim has done. How he impacted our lives."
As the Captain turned to face the casket holding Harry Kim's remains, Tuvok called attention, as the casket was started. As the tube made its way closer oblivion, cries could be heard.
Seven watched the tube shoot off into space, feeling the loss of a good friend. But her attention was quickly drawn to Lieutenant Torres, who seemed to be sweating profusely and shaking. For some reason this caused her much concern. True they didn't get along, but Seven felt drawn to the half Klingon, almost like a magnet pulled her to Torres.
While the others started leaving, the Chief stood there, eyes glazed over, breathing rapidly and shaking like she was freezing. Seven moved to block the view, knowing how the woman felt about showing weakness and placed a hand on her shoulder.
Torres jumped like she had been shocked and looked around. Seeing Seven seemed to calm her slightly. Then as B'Elanna took a calming breath, the scent of Seven filled her senses and her eyes turned black.
Tuvok approached them. He raised a brow and addressed the Lieutenant.
"Lieutenant Torres, I have been asked to escort you to sickbay."
Seven of Nine was now very worried. Torres looked at Vulcan like she didn't know him. "Maybe that isn't what I had planned." Torres asked. Then she turned and headed for the door.
She only made it about two steps before she felt hand on her arm. B'elanna was starting to feel like a caged animal, feeling trapped she growled and started for Tuvok. The Vulcan saw the way the Lieutenant's eyes were almost all black and she was starting to shake worse.
Seven stepped in and addressed Torres. "Lieutenant I would be happy to walk with you." Seven knew the other woman would see that as a weakness.
"NO I'll go just give me a minute, ok?" Tuvok and Seven both backed off, but still stayed close, just in case.
Once Seven moved away from the half Klingon the urge to claim her lessened slightly. Shaking her head B'Elanna decided that maybe she should see the doc. Gotta be something going on if the urge to make Seven of Nine hers was stronger then it ever had been before.
Tuvok had been watching Torres closely and could see the early signs of the Pon Far. When Seven of Nine was between him and the Lieutenant she was focused on Seven, but when Seven backed away she seemed to get control. Walking out of the shuttle bay he motioned for the Lieutenant to go first and held Seven back.
"I can take her from here, you need not assist." Seven thought about B'Elanna's dislike for her and didn't want to add to what ever could be wrong, so she nodded and headed for the cargo bay.
B'Elanna watched Seven walk away hypnotized by the sway of her hips. Tuvok cleared his throat and motioned for her to join him in the turbo lift. The ride to sick bay was quiet and they walked in just as the doctor was giving Vorik a hypo spray and ordering him to meditate.
Turning to the new arrivals the doctor motioned the Lieutenant over.
"How are you doing Lieutenant Any uncontrollable urges to mate or over-agression?" Torres looked at him like he had grown a second head.
"How did you know..." then she remembered Vorik just leaving.. "AWWWW.. not again."
"I'm afraid so, now tell me how long ago did this start?" The doctor asked all his questions and Torres answered them, well most of them.
"THAT is NONE of your business!" She yelled as she started to leave. Tuvok stepped in front of her, barring the way.
"Lieutenant Torres I can not let you leave sick bay, under your present condition, until the doctor has cleared you." B'Elanna thought about moving him, but she couldn't hurt Tuvok. He was one of the few who didn't hold being half Klingon against you.
She nodded and stomped back over to the bio bed. "So how long do I have to stay here? You know I hate being here." The doctor explained what he was going to try and how it might effect her.
"I'm not going to just attack someone. I do have some control." As she finished the doors opened to admit Seven of Nine and Vorik.
"I thought I told you meditate. What happened to your hand?" Examining the hand he forgot about the others in the room. Good thing Tuvok was still watching B'Elanna, because as soon as she saw Seven of Nine the shakes started again.
"Doctor you might want to check the Lieutenant She must not be affected by the serum." Just as he said that, Torres inhaled deeply then started growling. Seven hearing the growl, turned to the Lieutenant. The doctor also turned and seeing the look B'Elanna was giving Seven, knew the serum was not working. Tuvok was moving to restrain the Lieutenant when she leapt over a bio bed and charged towards Seven. Bracing for the impact, Seven was surprised when B'Elanna dropped her shoulder and put Seven over her shoulder. She was half way out the door when they heard her growl, "MINE." and take off down the hallway with Seven.
Tuvok and the doctor went for the door, but it wouldn't open. B'Elanna must have sealed the doors. "Tuvok to Security." no answer. "She must have also deactivated the comm also."
As they worked on how to get out, B'Elanna made her way with Seven still over her shoulder.
"Lieutenant I do not think you were suppose to leave sick bay. Don't you think we should go back." She tried to get an answer out of the other woman, but all she got were grunts, a constant growling and heat racing through her veins. When they got onto the turbolift Seven used the small space to try to get free of the Klingon.
"Lieutenant I believe I can walk on my own." She couldn't seem to break the hold even as they exited the lift. Torres stormed to her door and through, yelling for the computer to seal the doors.
She then stood Seven up and stepped back to look at her. Seven backed up a step when Torres walked to her.
"Lieutenant why have you brought me here?" When no answer was forth coming Seven decided it was time to take control of this before it got out of hand. So she calmly tried to reason with B'Elanna. "Lieutenant I believe you need to be in sick bay. You don't look well and your hearts are beating quite rapidly."
Torres balled her fists up, why 'had' she brought Seven here? She knew she wouldn't be able to control the blood lust if she was locked in with Seven. So why had she and now that Seven was here, what was she going to do with her.
Seven was watching the Lieutenant very closely, she could see that B'Elanna was battling with her self over something. When B'Elanna looked Seven in the eye, Seven could see concern and something else. Before either one could move, the doctor and Tom Paris appeared in a shimmer of light and rushed over to Torres. The half Klingon saw the sparkle, then the two men rushed over to her.
Feeling trapped B'Elanna growled and leapt over them. She was out the door and down the hall with Seven, the doctor and Tom right behind her.
The lift doors closed before Torres could escape. Turning she saw Seven and rushed her, intent on claiming her. Seven was prepared this time and caught the Lieutenant and held her. Seven could feel the tremors that were racing through Torres, but she couldn't think of that right now, she held the other woman and waited for the doctor to arrive.
"HELP HER." Seven demanded. The doctor put a hypo spray to B'Elanna's neck. When she went limp Tom moved to take her from Seven, but the look in Seven's eye made him change his mind.
"If you could take her to sick bay Seven, we can work on helping her." Seeing the strange looks Mr. Paris was giving Seven, he decided to have him go check up on Vorik. Anything to keep him and Seven apart.
Chapter 2
When B'Elanna came to, she was lying on a bio bed in sick bay. She looked around and saw Seven of Nine sitting in a chair beside her bed, sound asleep. Torres thought about her feelings for the former drone and about what she had done earlier. She could still feel the pull to claim Seven, but it wasn't as strong as before.
When B'Elanna swung her legs over the side of the bed, Seven stirred and open her eyes. When Torres looked into Seven's eyes, she felt like she was falling into them. But then she took a deep breath to clear her head, only it filled her senses with the scent of Seven. Torres broke out into a sweat again and her eyes dilated. Seven stood and walked into the doctors office, then returned with him.
"Ah I see my favorite patient is with us again. How are you feeling? Any uncontrollable urges?" The doctor asked the Lieutenant. Seeing that she wasn't going to answer he asked Seven if she would mind waiting in his office.
"If you do not need me any further, then I will return to my duties." Nodding to them Seven left sick bay.
After she was gone the doctor turned back to Torres. "Now, any thing you want to tell me?"
Torres faced the doctor and shook her head no. "Nope doc, feelin better. Thanks for the help." As she went to get off the bed, the doctor put a restraining hand on her.
"Not so fast Lieutenant You can't just go running off. This is serious B'Elanna. If you don't let me help you then it could kill you."
Torres rubbed her fore head ridges. "I know doc, but what choice do I have? I can't fight to the death and I don't think a Klingon infected with Pon Far is going to attract many willing mates."
The doctor could see that Torres had something else she wanted to say, but was having trouble. "You have more options then you would believe Lieutenant But I agree, you aren't going to find many mates like this." The doctor went to his office and got a hypo spray. "If you feel like you are losing control, use this. If it doesn't work come back."
Torres took the spray and thanked the doctor. On her way back to her quarters she picked up a lingering scent that made her blood stir. She gripped the hypo tighter and walked faster. Just as the turbo lift doors opened on her floor, that same lingering scent was heavier. Rounding the corner she saw Seven walking away from her door. B'Elanna waited until Seven was gone, then went to read what was on the pad she left. B'Elanna started reading the message as she walked inside and sat down.
Lieutenant Torres,
I am sorry that my presence causes you problems.
I will try to avoid any contact, other than ordered.
Seven of Nine
Torres sat there trying to keep from hunting down the ex drone and ravishing her. She finally decided that a cold shower couldn't hurt. Then they needed to talk.
Chapter 3
Tom had just finished with Vorik and was heading back to sick bay, when the ship was suddenly rocked by phaser fire. Tom turned around and made his way to the bridge. As the lift doors opened up, he could see the ship that was attacking them. He made his way down and took his station.
Seven of Nine was giving Captain Janeway all the information she could before she left for Engineering. Since B'Elanna was on sick leave Seven thought she would be more help down there. She was standing in the lift when the doors opened up to reveal Lieutenant Torres. She had a wild look in her eye and just stood there. Seven raised her implanted brow in question.
"Do you require assistance Lieutenant?" Her voice broke through to the clouded mind of the half Klingon, but then Torres leapt at her. Seven caught B'Elanna and pinned her up against the wall.
Torres was growling deep in her chest and fighting to get a hold of the ex Borg, but Seven's enhanced strength made that almost imposable. Finally B'Elanna was able to get her legs wrapped around Sevens waist and pulled her closer.
As she was pulled closer, Seven tried to reason with the Lieutenant "Lieutenant Torres, we are under...." They were thrown to the floor as the ship rocked again. But B'Elanna still had a hold of Seven. "MINE" she growled as she leaned in and bit Sevens cheek. Seven was shocked to say the least.
"Lieutenant I believe you are malfunctioning. We should go to ....."
B'Elanna's growl had turned into almost a purr and she was licking the bit mark clean. As she pulled back and looked into Seven's eyes, she saw uncertainty. That made her shake her head to try and clear it. "Seven...... help..." Then she started to shake uncontrollable.
Seven tapped her comm badge and requested an emergency beam out for two. When they appeared in sick bay the doctor rushed over. "What happen Seven." He asked upon seeing her cheek.
Seven brushed it off and pointed him towards Torres. "She needs your help. I have duties I must attend to." Having finished Seven turned and exited sick bay. She tried not to think about how it felt to have the smaller woman on top of her, or how her blood caught fire when Torres had bitten her. As she entered engineering, she looked around for Carey.
He was standing in the middle of the room yelling what needed to be done first. Seven walked up to him and asked if she could be of any help.
"Sure Seven, I need some help with getting repairs on the hull done. If you could help them it would be a big help to me." He smiled at Seven. She nodded and head for the hull repair team.
Carey shook his head, wishing the Chief was there to help out to.
Chapter 4
Back in sick bay, Torres was again pacing like a caged animal. The doctor had given her another injection, but was growing concerned. Vorik had reacted good and was now locked in his quarters until the Pon Far was over.
Lieutenant Torres however was not responding and was growing increasingly more agitated. The only plus was that she was somewhat in control.
That all change when, for the second time that day, Seven of Nine was escorting someone to sick bay. As soon as the Klingon caught the sent of Seven she started growling again and looking for the source of the sent.
The doctor had placed a cortical monitor on her earlier, and now it was registering the change in the Lieutenant He left his office to see what had the Lieutenant so worked up, only to find Seven of Nine holding Torres at bay. "Seven what are you doing back here?" He asked.
Before she could answer him B'Elanna had changed from trying to get a hold of Seven, to trying to attack the crewman Seven had brought with her. He had seen the Lieutenant going for Seven and tried to step in between them. But B'Elanna saw him as a threat and tried to eliminate it.
The doctor grabbed a hypo spray and injected the agitated half Klingon with a sedative. Seven caught Torres before she could hit the floor and gently lifted her onto a bio bed for the doctor. Seven wanted to know what was wrong with the Lieutenant, but didn't want to violate her privacy.
"So Seven what did you need?" The doctor asked. Seven told him about the crewman she had brought. While the doc was treating the ensign, Seven walked over to B'Elanna.
As she stood there watching B'Elanna sleep a warm feeling came over her. She reached out and moved a stray hair off of Torres's face, a tingle ran through her hand when she touched B'Elanna.
"Seven?" The doctor had walked up behind the ex borg to see how Torres was doing.
"Is she going to be alright?" Seven asked without looking away from the peaceful look on B'Elanna's face.
The doctor looked at Seven for a minute, then asked. "She will be fine if I can get the Pon Far under control."
Seven turned to the doctor. "I think you are mistaken doctor. Klingons do not get Pon Far. Made you need a diagnostic run." She was confused by what the doctor had said.
"The Lieutenant was infected with it when she, Paris and Vorik were trapped on a planet. Vorik tried to get her to mate with him." At Seven's concerned look the doctor hastened to reassure her. "She worked it out by doing battle with him, but of course that is not an option now."
Seven turned back to B'Elanna. She wanted to help the Lieutenant, but didn't know how. So she did the only thing she knew how. "If you do not require me any further, I will return to my work."
The doctor watched Seven leave, thinking that maybe he shouldn't have told her without B'Elanna's permission first. "Oh well, to late now." He checked Torres to be sure she was still sedated, then went back to his office.
